The UK has a generous safety net for their unemployed. In fact, some low-paid workers cannot afford to give up their government benefits and take a job. These unemployed often lose more in benefits than they earn in wages.

The Pensions Secretary hopes to resolve this conundrum. He would also like to end the complexity that requires 14 manuals, of almost 9,000 pages, that explain this system.

This could be one more reason to have faith in US Capitalism.
